Guide for Authors

Article Submission Policy

All processes related to articles (including submission, review results, and other notifications) are conducted exclusively through the online system of the journal Imamate in the Light of the Qur’an and Sunnah at http://ipj.emamat.org/. Authors must upload all required files through the journal’s website.

The corresponding author is considered the person who submits the article, and all future correspondence and notifications will be addressed to them. For papers with multiple authors, the corresponding author must be clearly identified, and the term (Corresponding Author) should appear next to their name. Authors’ institutional affiliations must be stated accurately.

If the article is derived from a thesis or a specific research project, the author is required to clearly mention this information on the first page of the article. Failure to disclose this information will result in action in accordance with the journal’s regulations if discovered at any stage.

This journal does not accept translated articles.

The total length of submitted manuscripts should not exceed 9,000 words.

If authors are requested to revise their papers based on reviewers’ comments, all revisions must be highlighted in green color in the revised manuscript.

Required Files for Submission

When submitting an article through the system, the following files must be uploaded:

a) Conflict of Interest Form
b) Author Commitment Form
c) Statement of Innovation (as supplementary file)

In addition, authors are required to provide their ORCID ID. To obtain this code, please register at https://orcid.org/register.


Citation and Referencing Style

The referencing style of the journal Imamate in the Light of the Qur’an, Sunnah, and Reason follows the APA format. Authors must ensure that all in-text citations and reference lists strictly conform to the following examples:

In-text Citations

Books: Author’s last name, year of publication: volume/page number.
Example: (Tabatabaei, 2010: 4/120)

Journals: Author’s last name, year of publication: issue number/page number.
Example: (Rahimi, 2016: 11/46)

Qur’anic Verses: Surah name, verse number.
Example: (Furqan: 5)

Note: For repeated references, the terms ibid. or op. cit. may be used as appropriate.


References

At the end of the article, references must be listed alphabetically by the author’s last name, following the formats below:

Books:
Last name, First name. (Year). Title of the Book (Translator or Editor’s name). Place of publication: Publisher.
Example:
Tabatabaei, Sayyid Muhammad Husayn. (2010). Al-Mizan fi Tafsir al-Qur’an, translated by Sayyid Muhammad Baqir Musavi Hamedani. Qom: Islamic Publications Office.

Articles:
Last name(s), First name(s). (Year). “Title of the Article.” Name of the Journal, Issue number, page range.
Example:
Abedi, Maryam & Mirbagheri, Sayyid Mohsen. (2023). “An Analysis of Ontological Guardianship and Its Consequences in the Shi‘ite Perspective.” Religious Studies Journal, Issue 46, pp. 83–108.
