Disavowal of the enemies and opponents of the path of truth is among the definitive and undeniable teachings of Imami doctrine. The serious consequences of this religious belief have throughout history been borne by the Shi'a and have served as a criterion for distinguishing the right path from the wrong one. This is because many who claim to love Ahl al-Bayt have avoided accepting this belief and have adopted a policy of silence, denial, or distortion toward it. Due to its foundations and presuppositions, the Iranian Salafi movement has denied disavowal as understood in Shi'a thought and has confronted this doctrine in three distinct areas: content-based criticism, assessment of chain authenticity, and historical criticism, a form of opposition that is unique in comparison with other opponents. In this study, the author first seeks to present an accurate account of the doctrine of disavowal in the thought of Iranian Salafism, then examines the arguments advanced by this emerging movement for denying the practice of cursing, and finally analyzes the factors influencing the adoption of this position, leaving the judgment concerning the correctness or incorrectness of the Imami belief to the reader. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the researcher examines the relevant perspectives and data. The findings indicate that the arguments presented by the Iranian Salafi movement for denying cursing are incomplete and do not diminish the soundness and validity of the Shi'a understanding of disavowal. Furthermore, insufficient attention to and a lack of deep understanding of the Qur'anic verses have been among the major causes of their misinterpretation of the doctrine of disavowal.
