The concept of "divine grace mediation" (wasațat al-fayd) is one of the fundamental issues in Islamic theology, addressing the nature of God's relationship with the created world and the manner in which divine mercy, guidance, knowledge, and existence are bestowed upon creation. Adopting a comparative approach, this article examines the position of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) within the system of divine grace on the basis of the Qur'an, hadiths, and the philosophical perspective of Avicenna. In the corpus of Shi'i teachings, the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as the "Names of God" (Asma Allah), "Words of God" (Kalimät Allah), "Face of God" (Wajh Allah), and "Gate of God" (Bab Allah), are presented as the true and exclusive intermediaries of divine grace at all levels of creation and guidance, such that no divine grace reaches creatures except through them. By contrast, drawing upon the principle of "the One can only emanate the one" (al-wahid lä yaşdur 'anhu illä al-wahid), Avicenna presents a hierarchical structure of the Ten Intellects through which divine emanation is transmitted successively to the material world. Although both perspectives emphasize the necessity of mediation, they differ fundamentally in the nature of the intermediaries, the manner in which grace is conveyed, and their relationship to human beings and God. /... alysis of the relevant traditions and specific concepts such as "Ba'," "the Names of God," and "the Face of God"
demonstrates that the mediation of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) is not merely honorific or symbolic, but ontological and necessary. This article seeks to establish the exclusivity of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) as intermediaries of divine grace and to clarify how their mediation differs from Avicenna's philosophical conception of mediation within a theological-exegetical framework.
